Formed in 1938, Youth 1st is the largest, non-uniformed organisation working with and for the young people of Fife. Each year many youth clubs and groups from throughout Fife, affiliate to Youth 1st. Many are organised and run by volunteers. We offer an interesting and varied programme of opportunities for young people and adults including - training and seminars on various issues, sports and fun days for juniors. In addition, we offer support to our members and youth workers and have developed excellent, innovative youth work initiatives. Mission Statement Youth 1st exists to support and develop high quality work and educational opportunities for young people. Working with our network of clubs, projects and young people we seek to provide enjoyable activities that help young people to develop the skills and attitudes they need to become fulfilled and effective citizens. We strive to involve young people directly in all our work and encourage others to do the same. To meet the wide and varying needs of its membership Youth 1st offers information, support and organises a wide range of training, conferences, seminars, events and activities for young people and youth workers. We aim to have as many young people as possible participating in our programme. The following information highlights the key services we provide. ? Information & Support The staff at Youth 1st regularly visit and keep in touch with youth workers and young people. Through those contact meetings youth workers and young people receive advice and information about a wide range of youth work topics. This service also extends to helping people to start up new clubs. ? Disclosure Youth 1st have a system in place to help groups with the Disclosure process. All newly recruited volunteers and paid staff must have a Disclosure check completed before working with young people.
